Social workers in England quitting in record numbers theguardian.com/society/2023/f… thank you @ruthallenonline for making the clear link between cuts, pressure and burnout - this government’s shortsightedness has huge consequences and costs #socialwork

"The world's most luxurious prison" on Channel 5 - the dream for me is for all prisons to take this approach. This is what prisons were SUPPOSED to be. I find Ann Widdecombe's attitude really difficult to swallow in this though, sadly. But, Halden Prison is what I wish for the UK

Never thought I'd catch myself reading research articles for enjoyment, or by free choice, but it's become one of my most favourite things to do in "free time". What has happened to me? Haha.

What social work roles are there working with children/young people who are or at risk of being criminalised, specifically?

Oh, my heart 🥰

It’s the things we do that mean the most. 🛹 #TheBeginner

Congrats to all social workers achieving awards. But also big shout out to all the social workers not nominated for any award, who day after day go above and beyond in terms of their commitment and dedication to the profession.

Such a special day for me & I'm still on such a high from it. And today marks the end of my 7th week as a NQSW in a front line team. 🥰

The people I know who make a big difference just go about it quietly & consistently. There's no talk of their own integrity & humility, no heroics or need to score points. It's in the how- the way they really listen & care, the way they take time to nurture relationships & trust.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Really proud of myself and so grateful to be in the role & work with the families I do. 🥰

I made it! 🎓👩🏼‍🎓 The first degree in all my family history. A Newly Qualified Social Worker in children's & families services. I did it! 🥰

What's the difference between working as a student in placement and working as a registered NQSW (same hours and both have essays/portfolios).. because I am absolutely zonked every day, moreso than before.😴😴

Sat on panel for the new level 4 social work students @UOSSocialWork today, the future looks bright for social work with so much fresh faces! Wishing everyone the best of luck for their journeys, hopefully I'll be back one day again soon! @hunt_garfield @duckett_n @Howbells

🙌 Yeeeees Beth! Amazing news and yes, you did it! You are indeed a #socialworker #newgeneration #welldone #uosgraduate @UOS_Alumni

Today was my first day as a NQSW in my new team. Logging in to my work laptop & it saying "social worker" and meeting new students felt so surreal. I can still hardly believe I am here and I did it! 🎉
