late Middle English: from late Latin muscus, from Persian mušk, perhaps from Sanskrit muṣka ‘scrotum’ (because of the similarity in shape of the sac on the abdomen of a male musk deer in which musk is produced).

Shouldn’t you be concerned about attacks on *all* communities?

An absolute belter of a poem

It’s police doing stuff like kicking people in the head that ends up with prosecutions collapsing. People cheering it on are putting their own vicarious gratification over policing that *actually* puts violent thugs like this behind bars

Extraordinary footage showing the attacks on GMP officers before the kick in question. Obtained by @MENnewsdesk

What’s the French for interminable? 😉

Come home to find the whole village has been turned into a set. Turns out nice man filming next door is Chris Columbus.

I remember a class on this topic in the second year of my philosophy degree. Rawls’ equal rights and responsibilities. The inherent dignity of Kantian ethics. Rousseau’s social contact, Mill’s utilitarianism and Sandel’s communitarianism all rip this bollocks to shreds.

JD Vance calls for taking away voting power from “people who don’t have kids”: “Doesn't this mean that non-parents don't have as much of a voice as parents? Yes. Absolutely”

Hotfooting it from Edinburgh to Wolverhampton to watch my daughter compete in the All England Dance finals. Really excited for her.

Really interesting and varied questions from Stempra members on AI and its ramifications for PR. Topics included ethics of using AI based on environmental impact of processing, how we protect human creativity and how we report on our AI use in a manageable manner.

How do we hold on to what we can uniquely do as humans? @BenVerinder says by having conversations like this. Thanks to everyone who asked a question or offered thoughts. Excellent discussion this afternoon #StempraScotland

Trump-Vance is very dangerous. But Trump-Vance is also very vulnerable. Most Americans are not pro-Putin, not pro-January 6, not not pro-loyalty oaths for government positions, not pro-tariffs, not pro-authoritarian. I think almost any Democrat could beat them. Except Biden.

This boy was the same age as the West Bank kids I used to teach. In 2023, Israeli forces and settlers killed at least 121 Palestinian children in the West Bank. We are failing, abominably.

Israeli forces fatally shot 14-year-old Ghassan Gharib Hussein Zahran in the back while he played with friends yesterday in the occupied West Bank. Israeli settlers and soldiers attacked Palestinian residents who tried to reach Ghassan while he bled out. ow.ly/KUUV50Sz3OI

It's not 'the economy, stupid'. It's competence to manage the economy (and everything else).

I’m seeing lots of people confidently pronounce that today’s good economic numbers prove that Sunak should have waited to call the election later, because the economic uptick would have boosted the Tories. One problem: that isn’t what happened at all in 2023 or 2024.

Yup

From the outside, the Biden situation is the most incredible example of a collective action problem. Everyone in the Democrats privately thinks he should step down, but everyone else is hoping someone else takes the hit of saying so out loud.

At 16 I was a really unpolished, clumsy right winger. Just like today.

He misspelt 'with'
