Gen. Colin Powell, military leader and first Black US secretary of state, dies cnn.com/2021/10/18/pol…

They’re somehow trying to have their cake and eat it too. @POTUS was somehow supposed to figure out how to leave Afghanistan with every American, every soldier and every piece of equipment and somehow get the Afghani military to stand strong and fight and have a happy ending. 🤦🏽‍♂️

This week has been a year.

No athletes should be required to speak to the media. Through their accomplishments and initiatives on and off camera, they’re already speaking to the world.

George Floyd’s life mattered. Justice has been served. Nothing will bring him back. But we owe it to Mr. Floyd, his family, and far too many others like him to take meaningful action to reform our policing system. We can start by passing the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

Mistaking your gun for a taser and then shooting someone with it is appallingly incompetent stuff.

I salute my dear brother Don Lemon for his No.1 NYT best-selling book "This Is The Fire" and his focus on the new forms of Jim Crow! Here is our rich exchange! @donlemon

Congrats to Virginia Beach native Kenny Jones and his Virginia Beach Dunk for winning the #HaveANikeSBDay contest! His colorway & design, inspired by where he was raised for most of his life, is nothing I’ve ever seen. I cannot wait to wear the real thing. pilotonline.com/news/vp-nw-loc…

So, the former POTUS was caught on tape committing a felony by telling SecState Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes." But it's Rep. Cannon who gets arrested for knocking on Gov. Kemp’s office door and charged with 2 felonies? She did not deserve this.

This is wild. Georgia Rep. Park Cannon was detained by police for knocking on Gov. Brian Kemp’s door.

Voting rights are foundational. They're the basis for everything else we need.

Church. School. Store. Mall. Concert. Theater. Parlor. Club. Restaurant. In recent years, mass shootings happened at all these venues. Folks can talk 2nd amendment all they want but I propose we add a 28th amendment: the freedom to not get shot by a weapon meant for war.

We have acted with the urgency this pandemic demands. Now that the #AmericanResucePlan has passed the House again, I can confidently say help is on the way.

Well. The spring cleaning rule of getting rid of any clothing you haven't worn in a year certainly gets tricky this time around.

We are losing an entire generation of civil rights leaders: Vernon Jordan, John Lewis, Rev. C.T. Vivian, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Emma Sanders, Charles Evers, Elijah Cummings, Amelia Boynton Robinson, and so many more. May they all rest in power.

Vernon Jordan, who rose to prominence as a civil rights activist with close connections in all corners of US politics, has died at 85 cnn.it/3q9A0lG
