As announced at the #COP26 plenary just now, the European Union will provide € 100 million to the @adaptationfund, to support developing countries in their fight against the climate crisis: it's time to get cracking. Read the press release below ec.europa.eu/commission/pre…
Several countries & regions pledged about 233 million USD to the @adaptationfund Great to see continuous support, increasing overall contributions & a broadening donor base. #ClimateFinance for the AF thus more than doubled this year. This upward trend must continue next year!

Adequate, sustainable and predictable resources will be essentiel for the @adaptationfund to increase its ambition. More countries need to follow #Sweden's example and provide generous multi-year pledges to the AF to increase predictability. #climatefinance #ClimateAction #COP26
Thanks again to #Sweden for the 1st multi-year pledge to AF last year, 1/4 of which is applied to 2020. Per Olsson Fridh, Sweden's State Secretary to Minister for International Development Cooperation, said AF is very well-positioned to deliver further needed #adaptation action.
Will the @adaptationfund reach its 2020 $120M resource mobilisation target? 🇩🇪🇮🇹🇧🇪&🇸🇪 showed continous support to the #AF with contributions for 2020. ➡️But we need further increased multi-year contributions to even surpass the rather low target. #ClimateAction #climatefinance
