Here’s what happened in Wisconsin. And a note of gratitude. 🧵

This is the spiritual opposite of the Bechtel test.

If you know any men who haven’t voted, get them to the polls.

This is just such an uplifting and fun activity. I have been spending all morning helping voters get free Lyft rides to and from the polls. Nevada, PA, MI, and more. Young people, old people, many races and genders. It's all about helping people vote and it feels amazing.

update: the Voter Transportation Project is scheduling free rides to the polls in swing states, and they urgently need help. More voters are calling in than they have folks who can answer and schedule rides. The next shifts are at 10am and 1pm EST. mobilize.us/ml-volunteer-h…

Strong Obama 08 energy when the PA polls I was observing had lines of 100+ at 7am. The vibes may be different today but this is exactly what we need to see: superior enthusiasm and driven why a winning ground game.

wouldn’t be gotv without a good line video of students voting (and it’s barely 7am)

Love to see one of the most influential personal finance writers out there knocking doors for Kamala. Makes me extra happy that his book is on my recommended list.

Canvassing in Pennsylvania today for @KamalaHarris

I wonder how much it would cost to advertise this to people buying laptops? Seems like it'd probably be expensive since companies selling laptops want to be in front of the same population.

"Trump tariffs could increase laptop prices by $350+, other electronics by as much as 40%," per Tom's Hardware reporting.

Hard to overstate how much of an improvement speed cameras are compared to police issuing tickets. Speed cameras are *way* more fair -- and also more reliable. theconversation.com/police-stop-mo…

I have gotten questions from several friends about how to vote this DC election, especially on I83. I wrote up a guide that looks at the topics (mostly I83) and the pros/cons. TLDR: It's a close call for me. Curious what Q's you have and what I missed! facebook.com/zteutsch/posts…

Former President Trump had 44 cabinet secretaries. 40 of them don’t support his 2024 campaign. Neither does his Vice President nor any of his former chiefs of staff.

News you can use! I plan to use the Petworth Library drop box. See you there?

It's voting season, Ward 4! Ballots are now arriving in mailboxes, and as of today you can return your ballot to the dropboxes now open across the District. Track your ballot: votedc.ballottrax.net/voter/ See a full map of dropbox locations: bit.ly/dc-dropboxes

The Ashkenazi version of Proust and the madeleine may be the nostalgia associated with the house the afternoon before Rosh Hashanah (or Pesach) when the pot of gefilte fish is doing its thing. And yes, it can be delicious and smell awesome.

This is a good point! In the years I was at the CFPB, we returned ~$15B (yes, billion) to consumers from financial entities that had illegally taken their money through deception, abuse, mistakes, and other mechanisms. And that doesn't include all the benefits of the rules/regs.

People don’t talk enough about success stories because once victory is secured it falls off the agenda, but 15 years ago creating a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was an ambitious progressive goal. It wasn’t easy, but it happened!
