The stuff in Project 2025 on climate and fossil fuels is even worse than you would imagine. As Michael Mann said, this would be “game over for climate progress.” If you care about a livable future, it’s worth understanding what’s in this radical right blueprint. Buckle up.

Trump just named Big Oil Burgum as his Interior Secretary. Why? 1) He's a billionaire 2) He led Trump's big ask for $1 billion from oil billionaires 3) He wants to open up our public lands to bankroll the oil & industry

Trump picks North Dakota governor to lead Interior ow.ly/cqns105OWA6

As Interior Secretary, Burgum will do everything he can to hand over our public lands and wild places to oil and gas companies to plunder. @KieranSuckling said it just right:

Get this: in the 1950s, oil companies set up a front group called the "Air Pollution Foundation," but when the lead scientist told them *they* were the ones causing pollution -- and cooking the climate -- the companies shut it down and buried the truth. desmog.com/2024/11/12/rev…

This is phenomenal reporting. New documents show that oil companies knew as early as the *1950s* that they were causing massive pollution and climate change. They went on to silence scientists and buried the truth. #MakePollutersPay desmog.com/2024/11/12/rev…

At least this should make for some interesting confirmation hearings…

If you want to call me a lefty for thinking my community deserves to drink clean water, go ahead.  If you want to say I'm a progressive for saying polluters should pay to clean up their mess, feel free.  I don't give a sh*t about labels. I care about delivering for my…

1. Who really won the US election? The fossil fuel companies and other polluting industries. We scarcely heard about them during the election campaign, which is just how they like it. Almost everything we *did* hear about was a distraction from the real agenda. 🧵

Ok #EnergyTwitter, if you wanted to drive clean energy and climate action over the next four years, and had 500 local groups across the country, and a million online supporters to back them up, what would you have them work on?

Jamie Henn Reposted

Those desperate to delay and deny the inevitable demise of the fossil fuel age seek to make clean energy a dirty word. They will lose. The economics are against them. Solutions have never been cheaper or more accessible.

It is an honor to join President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator. We will restore US energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, and make the US the global leader of AI. We will do so while protecting access to clean air and water.

After spending an entire year, warning Americans about project 2025 & you elect this man anyways reminds me of “Don’t look up.” We’re cooked

Zeldin strikes me as a bizarre pick for EPA. He’s got a terrible voting record on the environment, but I was honestly expecting a fossil fuel CEO or something. It seems that above all else, Trump just wants ass kissing sycophants…with maybe is even more dangerous?

Thank you @jamieclimate We've got a lot of work to do - we need to recruit, train, run, and volunteer to elect the next generation of local and state climate leaders that will fight Trump's agenda. Join us next Tues to debrief and start getting involved: mobilize.us/leadlocally/ev…

That same movement can get to work with groups like @LeadLocally and @ClimateCabinet to run and elect more climate and clean energy champions at the local level — and lay the groundwork for national change.

I think this time around the resistance will be local. We’ll march and protest, but even more important, we’ll get to work protecting our neighbors and working together to keep making progress on the issues that matter most. Here’s what we can do on climate 🧵

Trump: "We don't have a global warming problem. They don't use that term anymore because as you can see, it's very cool out here today. Oh, they go crazy when I say-- it's not global warming because at certain points it starts to cool a bit, like now."
