I compiled a list—as exhaustive as possible—of all peer-reviewed & published research articles that evaluate the effectiveness of nonpharmaceutical interventions, specifically lockdowns on COVID-19 ➡️Papers finding NPIs effective outnumber, by 8 to 1, those finding the opposite

For those wondering: I'm not dead I have been off Twitter for, what, more than a year? I would love to get back to tweeting regularly, especially with Musk's changes, but I'm busy with life, house remodel, kids, vacations, hobbies, etc, etc Cheers😎

Basic fact all graphics coders should know: To uniformly sample points in a disk, you'd think you could just pick a random radius r ∈ [0,1] and a random angle θ ∈ [0,2π] to generate points r (cos θ, sin θ). This doesn't work! …But take the square root of r, and it does! 1/3

I see absolutely no need to drop the term #LongCovid. It’s a general umbrella term yes, but so are the names of so many other health conditions. The difference? People who personally experienced it came up with this one and continued using it. I see dropping it as a power move.

Polls like this are usually roughly accurate (wisdom of the crowd), but here, whoa, people grossly underestimate sea level rise! It rose 4 inches (10 cm) over 30 years But most people replied 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) or less

Without looking up the answer, how much has the global sea level risen in the last 30 years?
