Coutinho is showing some quite astonishing brass neck here. Labour has simply confirmed the start date set by Coutinho herself, for a policy designed and consulted on by the govt Coutinho was part of.

Today Labour have quietly introduced a new tax on boiler companies that don’t sell enough heat pumps. It gives Ed Miliband open ended powers to force heat pumps on people by making the price of gas boilers unaffordable. We will not support it.

Veiled warning to #COP29 Presidency here

I had been wondering what a South African racist who fathered a child with his step daughter and has been accused of domestic abuse by his ex-wife thought about British politics, so it’s good of LBC to enlighten us all.

'Keir Starmer needs to resign in the next three months.' Errol Musk, father of Elon Musk, calls on the PM to step down, criticising Labour for 'sending England back 400 years'. @AndrewMarr9

"This year Britain became the first G7 country to phase out coal power as part of our drive to make the UK a clean energy superpower," says Ed Miliband. Good to hear this said out loud here - it doesn't feel like it's being touted enough as a major step on the road.

Big announcement at #COP29 as 25 countries, including UK, Germany, Australia, and EU, back a Call to Action for No New Coal. The group, which includes industrialised and developing economies, wants pledges not to build new coal capacity included in NDCs. businessgreen.com/news/4381238/c…

We all agree the people driving these tractors should now be arrested, correct?

🚨 Tractors have broken down the barricades at the farmers protest in Central London.

Absolutely superb @vicderbyshire

“So it’s not about you, it’s not about your farm and the fact you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?” @vicderbyshire speaks to Jeremy Clarkson at the farmers’ protest in Westminster where thousands of farmers are protesting the government’s inheritance tax plans.

"I farm just under 5,000 acres myself," Says multi-multimillionaire Lord Lloyd Webber, whose descendants will now presumably have to pay inheritance tax on it. The "ordinary farmers" are really out in force huh.

UN summits, like Cop29, can be some of the most visually uninspiring events on the planet. My story for @TheArtNewspaper on the 'Artivists' (@Artivistnet) who are trying to change that. theartnewspaper.com/2024/11/19/a-s…

A word on @AllisonPearson free speech row and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. Today on @TheNewsAgents, we asked her to appear. She said ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ You gotta love a free speech warrior

"Have you seen where the artists are currently relegated to in this process? Not in the main negotiation space but outside in the Green Zone.” My report for @TheArtNewspaper on the campaign to get culture & heritage formally recognised at COP29. theartnewspaper.com/2024/11/18/cop…

Why I’m optimistic about the energy transition: Humans tend to underestimate the pace of innovation and overestimate the inertia of incumbent technologies. Clean energy technologies have scaled much more rapidly than predicted by modellers

COP29 is a chance for Britain to show climate leadership on the global stage. This government believes that climate security is national security. Behind the scenes earlier this week 👇

I look forward to @EdwardJDavey doing this the next time he opposes a new piece of legislation.

If you think US politics is crazy take a look at New Zealand.
