An undervalued/underpaid segment of the information tech/services workforce are going to be working overtime through the weekend/week to restore global services by manually rebooting millions of machines in safe mode to delete a bad security update. Kudos to them.

I was born in a small eastern UP village. The cow was like a mother. The most important one in the family. First roti went to her, every morning first thing, dad and brothers would spend hours cleaning after her feeding her. In summers we would wash her every day, the entire…

Honestly… I don’t understand this smug self righteousness of vegetarians. Your entire diet is made up of denying the calf its mother’s milk.. forcibly impregnating cows then separating them from their babies & stealing their milk. You eat root vegetables? That kills the whole…

I love the security questions we get. "Can you ensure your backups don't restore deleted data?" I, uhhh, ummm, well...okay what do *you* use backups for? Maybe I've been going about this all wrong.

Let us imagine that a Hindu invaded Mecca and renamed it Shivapura. Would that name be acceptable? The very fact that it remained Allahabad all these years and it took a man like Yogi Adityanath to restore the original name tells a lot about us.

What C++ features have you /never/ used? For me, some that come to mind: `std::priority_queue` and the C++11 garbage collection hooks.
