NW Tribes continue to lead concerns about dams impact on salmon, a first food for many Nations. Upper Columbia United Tribes are finding ways to reintroduce salmon to their historic habitats, like physically bringing the salmon above the Chief Joe and Grand Coulee dams.

WDFW state fishery managers are holding 9 a.m. morning briefings beginning Monday, April 3, via conference call at the Pacific Fishery Management Council meetings April 3-7 in Foster City, Calif. At the meetings the tentative Washington salmon fishing seasons will be adopted.

Did you see this big news for the Hanford Nuclear Site? In 2022 Columbia Riverkeeper joined a broad call by states, Tribes, orgs, and community groups for the federal government to fully fund Hanford cleanup. This funding will help protect the Columbia River over the longterm.
