This👇🏼 applies to any children with a disability. Accommodate by modifying the amount of work rather than take away recess.


If not done with the needed supports it does not work. Just because students sit in a classroom does not guarantee they are able to access the curriculum. This is true for all children

This!👇🏼 if they don’t attain a strong set of basic skills in early elementary the rest of their schooling will be hard and it will show in higher rates of drop out and absenteeism.

Any system that wants to lift its Year 12 completion rate has to start at the first years of school, with explicit and systematic reading & maths instruction. It takes 10 yrs for overnight successes to occur. abc.net.au/news/2024-06-0…



“We shouldn’t replace the minutes”we need to ADD minutes. But it has become difficult to do because students schedules are packed. It is an issue of substituting. no one wants to say what the student will “miss.” I say look at what they’re already missing because they can’t read!
