I started residency at 44. I'm lazy abi? But I was a regional head of the Zenith Bank HMO, (overseeing almost N1 Billion naira in inflow) at 35. Does that matter? Nope. Cos everyone has their pace/path. Residents, reject unnecessary pressure. Life na jeje.

There’s no question mark on the junior doctor’s competence. His only offence was asking for a day off to clear his head and you’re bashing him and calling him too soft. What sort of thinking is this? What sort of training is this? Those consultants that made Snr Reg’s to kneel…

Too soft. Too lazy. Someone needs to knock sense into these people. Dana white made a comment a while back too. The leaders in the next generation do not even need to be exceptional. Any one who is above average would dominate this coming generation easily.

The thinking that went behind assuming that young people dont know hard work is needed for success is quite interesting.🥹

I was an SR before i turned 29 Lots of nuance to this conversation but, it takes a lot of work, a whole lot of work to be successful/excellent. People don’t like to hear this but if there’s one thing Life has taught me…. is that you have to work hard. Really hard There is…

You're being intentionally dishonest, and that's very bad of you. No one who has engaged with the original tweet is disputing the correlation between hardwork and success. That isn't the crux of the matter. So, no, it isn't about any message/messenger here. Stop this gaslighting!

Aje, please prioritise your work/life balance. Everybody’s race is different. Nobody gets out alive. Prioritise and enjoy your youth.

Always choose work life balance no matter how old or young you are. Toxic working environment should not be encouraged and laziness also shouldn’t be tolerated. Try your best to be very good at your job but prioritise your mental health. Your patients deserve a doctor who takes…

It’s this young people’s obsession with ‘work-life balance’ that annoys me. You are young, you have not really achieved anything career wise and you are insistent on choosing days to work and then ‘relaxing’ on the other days. I had to tell someone today that at 27 I was already…

MEDICAL EMERGENCY: 🤲 Dr Idorenyin Isiakpu is a Nigerian Doctor, who, tragically, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, leading to a subarachnoid and intraventricular haemorrhage (bleeding into the brain). She is in urgent need of N32 Million. I have sent N200,000. Please, help…

WE NEED YOUR HELP Dr Idoreyin was my classmate in Med School. 12 years post graduation, she wanted a better life for herself and her 2 kids. She left to write PLAB exams in the U.K. She slumped in the toilet in Manchester even before taking the exam. She had a Subarachnoid…

Lastly, age-at-achievement should not be a measure of success in my opinion. You can finish at 20 and go bankrupt at 30. You can finish at 45 and become world-renowned at 50. You can finish at 26 and get a life-altering diagnosis at 27. Achievements are simply achievements!

Older people need to understand the psychology of this generation sha. I am sure baba thought “I was an SR at 27” was supposed to inspire young people😂😂

I have other interests outside of medicine that are more mentally and financially fulfilling. I want a work-life balance to travel that much. I don't want to resent the work the way some mentors do. I want to continue to tell those young doctors they can do it too.

You call it motivation but I call it ‘unnecessary pressure’. You were an SR at 27. I was an SR at 29. Someone else will be an SR at 35. It doesn’t matter. Everyone should run their life’s race at their own pace. If you need to take a mental health day once in a while, take…
