66 people die with COVID, on the latest figures. Are any politicians, or anyone in the media, taking the slightest interest? Absolutely not.

Tragedy of another 13 Covid related deaths today in South Australia. I am sickened by those around the country in politics and in the media dismissing this variant as “mild” in order to fit their same, shared political agenda.

Yesterday I received a booster shot. I was at the doctors and he said if I came back in the afternoon about an hour after they started jabs, I’d almost certainly score a cancelled appointment. I was with five others, all elderly. We spent the next fifteen minutes together.

Rapid antigen tests should be free and available. We are in a pandemic. Everyone needs access.

Queensland's success throughout the pandemic has not been an accident. It's time people stopped and listened, rather than attack. #qldpol #auspol

A sober warning from @GMegalogenis 70% opening is high risk acc to both Doherty and Burnet models. Sydney in real danger of a once-in-a-century setback smh.com.au/national/sydne…

Just marked a decade back in Australia after nearly a decade as a foreign correspondent and, have to say, feel like crying for my country. Right wing conservatism has sapped the life out of Australia, stunting its humanity, ambition and potential. Hard to be optimistic.

It is a complete dereliction of her duty as leader of this state for the Premier to suddenly decide, at the worst stage of the pandemic, to stop fronting up for press conferences which are the only chance for public scrutiny and accountability. Beyond disgraceful #GutlessGladys

It feels like NSW is now entering an Orwellian world of political control, spin & selective dripfeeding of news-in the midst of the biggest crisis the state’s ever faced. Appalling, cowardly decision for that govt to walk away from daily covid pressers. We see through it #auspol

I find it surreal some politicians are planning to make decisions they know will result in lots of people dying.

The main lesson to be learned from 2021, is to never vote for someone who tries to kill you.

thedullfig Reposted

When people talk dismissively that someone who died from COVID 'had underlying medical conditions', besides being ethically reprehensible, remember this includes about 40% of the population

The Vic second wave was almost completely created by outbreaks in federally regulated aged care. The state didn't know, because the cases and deaths were reported to Colbeck, who didn't pass the data on to the state. The coroner alerted the govt to the issue./2
