Hi everyone, I'm looking to interview the BEST personal trainers and coaches in Sydney, Australia. If you love helping people and want to share your training, lifestyle, & business tips with the world, I'd love to chat. Drop a reply below and please RT.

To everyone involved in youth sports.

“If you’re a youth coach you have to make a decision. Do you wanna help the players to develop themselves or do you just want to win the youth league?” ~ Stan van Gundy

A few times... Having said that, we've also seen many examples of the kind of poor, underqualified coaching that contributes to this perspective.

Every strength coach has been here before 🤬😡

Good chats on this thread. In my view, ankle mobility is rarely one of the main culprits.

I see a lot of forward COM and starting the lift with more hip flexion than is probably ideal.

Meet 'em where they're at.

Very interesting study showing that short text messages can be a reliable way to deliver many, but not all, behaviour change techniques; academic.oup.com/tbm/article-ab…

Is animal flow still a thing?

''Here's what works for me'' >>>>> ''here's what you should do.''

What's YOUR favourite exercise to do, and why? No judgment. We all got into this because we enjoy lifting first and foremost.

Absolutely. Sydney coaches, I'd love to chat with you on my podcast. If coaching is important to you and you're good at what you do, people should know about you. DM me and I'll get you set up. 🤝

If I've learned something this week, it's that the global coaching community is STRONG, and we're all dealing with the same human challenges. We need to stick together and build each other up, as it's very clear from my thread that there are enough forces working against us. 🫶

''Body composition characteristics expressed as relative values seemed to be more highly associated with in-season availability and injury than characteristics expressed as absolute values.''

"As fat mass increases, the energy cost of exercise also increases. Thus, it is plausible that players with higher levels of fat mass would experience a premature onset of fatigue" journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/Abst…

I'd love to get opinions on the nordic hamstring exercise. What do you think, useful, useless, overrated? Let us know!

Positive perception of a coach (such as with a need-supportive coaching style) leads to an athlete becoming more engaged and autonomous. Shocking I know. biblio.ugent.be/publication/86…

Good morning to everyone who squats on Mondays. Psychos 💪

Committing to reading at least 10 pages per day of a good book has been one of the best decisions I've made recently. Fell off a little since the twins were born but I'm loving these little nooks of time. What are you doing today that's just for you?

''Here's what worked for me'' is way more powerful than ''here's how this works.'' Show don't tell. We tend to hate being told what to do or that we SHOULD do something We tend to love having choices.

Encourage buy-in from difficult athletes or clients by: 1. Identifying them early 2. Addressing concerns quickly 3. Clarifying expectations and roles 4. Enforcing consequences, 5. Being positive, even while dealing with negative situations sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
