It is VITAL that teachers keep an eye on this. We've already seen issues with the science subjects, god only knows what Foley has planned for a subject she tried to reduce down to studying texts.

🔹INOTE Conference🔹 Louise O’Reilly gave attendees a very informative account of the NCCA’s role & work in the area of LC English Redevelopment & the introduction of the AAC Louise urged our members to engage & stay informed with the redevelopment process

An incisive, clear-eyed analysis of the crossroads LC English is at. It may be time to stand back and think carefully rather than plunge blindly into change for the sake of change. The repercussions for EVERY LC student will be profound.

It's clear to all involved that LC Redevelopment needs a pause. Not only has AI changed the landscape completely but the decision to have a 40% project in every subject seems increasingly like a PR stunt akin to the 9 million, except here its repercussions are significant.

better students' education. 2. The LC is all about the CAO. This is where the stress comes from in, as the Minister likes to say, the first instance. 3. It's not about student wellbeing otherwise they wouldn't be proposing to spread CAO stress over two years.

Mobile Phone Sleeping bag summery. Let's put this story "to bed." 1. The pouches sound like they're a good idea. 2. The Government paying €9 Million to pay for the storage of privately owned luxury items is not a good idea. 3. That money could have been spent on education.

Susan Leahy Reposted

7. The rhetoric from the government is around how schools are overwhelmed with phones beeping, students looking at phones during class, photos/videos being taken. This is hugely disrespectful to teachers who have been dealing with this for 2 decades.

Ana Alcolea discussing the co-creation of meaning between the author, the reader and the text at @atsirlanda conference. #atsirlanda “No es solo cosa del autor.” “Hay un hilo invisible que nos une [nosotros los lectores] con los escritores”

Visit from Spanish aithor Ana Alcolea to Coláiste Pobail Setanta. What a pleasure to hear her speak about her novel "El medallón perdido"( ed Anaya) to our Senior Cycle students who will read the novel next year #ATSConferenceAGM2024

Hard to believe it’s 20 years since my first @atsirlanda conference way back in the day! Since then the Association has gone from strength to strength! Amazing to see so many new textbooks, resources, schools from Spain…always such a buzz! #atsirlanda #edchatie

Delighted to be at @atsirlanda for the annual conference! Great to connect with colleagues and old friends from Spain. #edchatie #atsirlanda

Just realised that my calculations are very unclear. The total funding to RTE is €225m per annum, which would fund the above jobs for 40 years. They have been promised this colossal sum of money for 3 years so you can multiply the number of jobs by 3 as well. 🤯

Hard to have to depend on the kindness of strangers, but a small amount from each of us could make a massive difference to Diane.

🚨URGENT appeal.🚨 Considering the urgency, and the lack of support from official bodies, I have been left with no option.💔 If you can help, even by sharing this appeal, I would be eternally grateful. I am begging for a chance to stay alive. 🙏 gofundme.com/f/help-diane-m…

Friends in the UK 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪: It’s official! I’m coming your way to talk about babies - and my new book - in early 2025. Lots of cool announcements coming soon. If your organization might be interested in hosting/sponsoring an event let’s connect soon.

Hello #edchatie #mfltwitterati @joedale just wondering if you use @Quizlet, what kind of accounts do your students (in general) have? As in, is the normal free account enough for them, if you have a teacher account? I can’t seem to find details on the site. Thank you ❤️

To those.outosed of education this might not make sense but the speed of these reforms is ridiculous. There's no time to really assess how changes impact students education, there mistakes and compromises are made with no guarantee that they will be fixed in the future. 1/2

The problems (huge shortage of teachers and issues surrounding proposed Senior Cycle/Leaving Cert reforms for Science subjects) persist but still Minister for Education and her Dept. come out with the same old “solutions” and trite responses.🤨 #edchatie m.independent.ie/irish-news/lac…
