Urgent Care Clinics - 101 Rebrand an existing clinic ✅ Remove GPs from GP clinics that provide life saving continuity ✅ Continue to starve Medicare rebates for Primary Care ✅ Inject an extra $159+/- per encounter but still call it “Medicare” ✅ Shame @AlboMP #auspol

The Albanese Labor Government promised to deliver 58 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics and today we delivered yet another one, this time in Cairns! I had a great time this morning meeting and thanking all the people who have brought this Medicare Urgent Care Clinic to life!

Scope of practice review pushes non-GP referral powers, by @hollythepayne @RACGP and @amapresident say they managed to “safety net” the most radical aspects of the report, despite controversial recommendations. So, it could have been worse, apparently. medicalrepublic.com.au/scope-of-pract…

@MarkSpeakman Did you take time to seek out any of the 200 Drs on the list? I'm sure at least one would have made time to speak with you. And what exactly is meant by "be practical about the matter"? Didn't realise the health of our community is simply a matter of practicality

Letter to @AlboMP and @ChrisMinnsMP & @JacintaAllanMP from @border_medical 200+ doctors. We have been ignored for too long. It’s time for a new hospital on a new site for #albury #wodonga and region. We are not accepting second-rate!

One for the price of six. Taxpayer’s are paying $769M this year to keep our six Collins subs ship-shape and at sea. Only one is available. It’s a value-for-money failure and a national security failure - bought to you by the same ‘genius’ team bringing you #AUKUS 🤦‍♂️. 1/3 #auspol

The public has lost all confidence in the #NACC that @MarkDreyfusKCMP designed, and the Commissioner he recommended for appointment. Brereton should go, but so too should the Attorney-General. Start again @AlboMP! #fail #FederalICACNow #auspol thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/law-crime…

bordermail.com.au/story/8808538/… riiiiiiiight…but when the redevelopment does not resolve the critical bed shortages you speak of, it is still best to plough on with a redevelopment that 200 of the community’s doctors have called out as failed?

RAM has only one goal: place-based models for equitable, long term, sustainable well funded primary health care for remote Australia. We will do this by encouraging and assisting remote Australian communities to participate in the development of their own appropriate models.

Universal health coverage, as defined in the UN sustainable development goals means providing appropriate primary healthcare to everyone, regardless of where they live, and equitable access to the same standard of health provision that our urban counterparts enjoy.

At our recent AGM several new board members were appointed - a great mix of enthusiasm and experience that advocate for community-driven, place-based models of primary health care that are innovative, equitable, appropriate, well-funded & sustainable for remote Australia.

Everyone deserves access to affordable healthcare. But Medicare and general practice have been underfunded and undervalued for decades. We urgently need meaningful investment in patients' rebates. @QandA @abcnews abc.net.au/news/2024-10-2…
