I wonder if any of the people worried about kids falling behind because of distance-learning have lost loved ones to COVID, or have been impacted by Long-COVID or multi-inflammatory syndrome. It feels like these might be very different groups of people.

No serious medical authority disputes this. This is reflected in the guidance given by the CDC. This means that getting infected with COVID is among the riskiest activities you can do, outside of maybe going into an active warzone.

The culture war against unhoused people, and the constant rhetoric on how they have no right to *exist* in our communities, has deadly impacts. Suicide is the leading cause of death for homeless youth.

The press is *supposed* to protect the public. We count on you to do your jobs, to bring light to things that hide, to protect democracy from those who want to buy it and mold it into their own likeness.
