do NOT underestimate someone who has Downs Syndrome.

A woman with Down's syndrome is launching a legal challenge to current abortion laws. The law allows terminations up to full term in cases of "severe foetal abnormality" in England, Scotland and Wales. Heidi speaks to #BBCBreakfast about the case. bbc.in/3hj9tBg

Today we remember the one and only Dr Kate Granger who died on this day in 2016. Kate was an absolute inspiration to thousands across the NHS and her legacy lives on in so much of what we do. #HelloMyNameIs

Any Derby / Nottingham based OTs that would be willing to help a desperate student with an elective placement 2nd Nov - 18th Dec? I'd already paid for accommodation before one option got cancelled 🥴 any RTs would be so appreciated 💚#OccupationalTherapy

Wow, thanks for that ringing endorsement of Occupational Therapists @CLHattersley !

COVID19 is HARD... But one of the HUGE positive has been having OTs as part of the team. I'm stunned by how much they add to to the team - how did I not know this? #loveOTs #everyoneneedsanOT

Think about what will be the same and different when your child returns to school. School staff may be able to share photos or videos of how school will look. Find more ways to prepare your child for when they return to school: rcot.co.uk/node/3556 @RCOT_CYPF @RCOT_Sally

This is so important, wearing a mask can be uncomfortable for everyone - there's some really useful tips here to make it easier for those with sensory processing differences.

In this new normal masks will become more prevalent & many kids w/ #downsyndrome & #sensory needs may have difficulty w/ wearing masks. Here is a resource I created with some strategies to help parents/caregivers. bit.ly/2TJas1I #COVID19 #OT365

When I explain what OT is,I feel people can struggle to understand challenges such as role loss/overload,social participation & lack of routine.I wonder if our experiences of lockdown may help raise awareness & perhaps make explaining our role slightly easier. Thoughts? @theRCOT
