The Canadian Labour Congress is actively campaigning for National Pharmacare #Phar4902F23

Such a tangible way to help move the conversation forward! No one should have to choose between affording their medications versus other daily needs. #PHAR4902F23

Every other country with universal healthcare includes coverage for prescription medication, except for Canada (i.e. UK, France, Germany, NZ). Why is prescription drug coverage not seen as an integral part of universal healthcare in CAN? #PHAR4902F23 canada.ca/en/health-cana…

Access to medication is life-saving. Send a letter to your MP and help advocate for Universal Pharmacare! #PHAR4902F23

Interesting read on the obstacles but suggests models we can use to get National Pharmacare! #PHAR4902F23 cdhowe.org/expert-op-eds/…

Universal healthcare is not equitable if it does not include universal pharmacare. Access to medications is essential for improving health outcomes. #PHAR4902F23

Without universal prescription drug coverage of as a cornerstone of a universal health care system, you end up with an inefficient and unsustainable hybrid based on where someone works or lives, not on their actual medical needs. #PHAR4902F23 globalnews.ca/news/9430174/p…

Focus should be put on the fact that Big Pharma and the insurance industry are motivated by money and that their arguments are based in greed. Greed has no place when it comes to health. #PHAR4902F23

Pharmaceutical and insurance industries are lobbying against universal pharmacare. This article outlines the flaws in their arguments and further supports universal pharmacare. #PHAR4902F23 theconversation.com/with-a-pharmac… via @ConversationCA

Sam, I absolutely agree! It’s truly heartbreaking to see patients go without their medication because they can’t afford them. We need universal Pharmacare! #PHAR4902F23

Universal healthcare without universal Pharmacare is counterintuitive. Over 7 million Canadians have little to no drug coverage and are forced to take health risks. Medication or food? The decision is costing us in the long run. Have a read! #PHAR4902F23 cbc.ca/amp/1.6855773

It’s very interesting that the PRO stance focuses on moral grounds like Canada’s promise of equitable health care whereas the CON stance is focused mainly on finances. Money is a clear barrier but if we promise universal health care there should be a viable solution! #PHAR4902F23

We see the consequences of someone not being able to afford their DOAC! Patients are not able to pay and leave the pharmacy without their therapy and can end up having a clot and ending up in hospital! We have discussed this happening in our weekly safety huddles! #PHAR4902F23

Something I have encountered regularly in my practice... and needs to change! "16% of Canadians have gone without medication for heart disease, cholesterol and high blood pressure due to cost."heartandstroke.ca/articles/why-c… #PHAR4902F23

Pharmac in New Zealand uses evidence-based practices to incorporate beneficial and cost effective medications into formularies - such approaches would be among the first steps in Canada to achieve national pharmacare #PHAR4902F23

#PHAR4902F23 A main critique I’ve read about national pharmacare in Canada is without private coverage, patients would lose access to prescriptions in place of a national formulary. Check out this example of a model that combines public and private plans! ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Canadians support universal public pharmacare to complement health care. The current system leaves 20% without adequate drug coverage, forcing many to choose between basic needs and medication. #UniversalPharmacareCanada 🇨🇦💊 #PHAR4902F23 canada.ca/en/health-cana…

Did you know Canada has an advisory body on implementing National Pharmacare? Their report states that 20% of Canadians in the current drug coverage model are left with unaffordable drug costs and worsened health outcomes - change is needed #PHAR4902F23 canada.ca/en/health-cana…
