I love how this lesson invites students to think deeply about the perimeter of rectangles. I especially appreciate that your facilitation of meaningful discourse allowed students to share and consider differing mathematical ideas. #ARRCPowered #RRISD3 #ElemMathChat #rrmathrocks

I love it when my students learn from each other! Many thought the odd numbers weren’t possible, but after hearing other groups share, they tried again. Some even used fractions for the even perimeters! #growthmindset #imjustherefortheride @EMathRRISD @BCE_BlueJays

I am proud of my district @EMathRRISD @rrisdpd for our home grown Numberless Word Problem Routine. This helps ss across the world be better problem solvers as they are given opportunities to slow down and see the relationships within a problem. @bstockus shares our work so well.

Have you noticed students compute numbers in word problems before they truly understand what the problems say? See this post by @bstockus where he shares resources for numberless word problems that help students slow down their thinking! bit.ly/2tSCYjQ #numberlesswp

Thank you @bstockus for providing such an awesome curriculum full of rich mathematics!

As a district curriculum coordinator, it makes me proud to see all the amazing work my teachers are doing to launch the year with rich, engaging mathematics tasks and a focus on fostering positive mathematics identities. #ElemMathChat #MTBoS #iteachmath

These students in @MsHolcek class were amazing! Glad @bstockus shared Numberless Graphs and their amazing potential with our fabulous RRISD coaches!

Learning productive struggle and mathematical discourse live with @bstockus and through video with @reginarocks #RRockStar team supporting @RoundRockISD teachers. #rrisd1family #stuvoice

That's so true for most children!

She intuitively adds the tens first. Yay! #tmwyk

Perfect! Way to go @bstockus...let her in her own time with just a few questions to spark the thinking. So proud of the father you are!

Daddy: Can you regroup to make another group of ten? Me: Yes. Daddy: Are there still 31 cubes? Me: Yes. 30 and 1.

While fractions shouldn't always be related to pizzas, I can't help talking about them when we eat pizza. #tmwyk

Me: I want it cut into 4 pieces. Daddy: So Papa will cut it into fourths. Do you know why it's called fourths? Me: Because there are four pieces. Daddy: So if we cut it into two pieces would it be called two-ths? Me: No! Those are halves. Daddy: What about 8 pieces? Me: Eighths.
