Tyre, Nabatiyyeh, Bint Jbeil- These are the core centers, the beating hearts of South Lebanon, centuries of history, targeted one after another. This is a war on Lebanon's very existence. Every other interpretation is complicit and enabling this crime.

#Sudan’s people aren’t just suffering because of the war, & the displacement & blocked aid routes it’s caused. Even where aid groups are able to get access to help, they just don’t have the funding. Sudanese I spoke to on the front lines feel the world has turned its back on them

In South #Darfur, shamefully little is done for conflict-displaced people—met many #war widows and children who had no #shelter. We’re squeezing budgets to help a few thousand more people now in El Sharif IDP camp, for instance, but really need more donors to mobilise resources.

I urge civil society orgs, trade unions, scholars, students, civil servants, people of faith, journalists who still have a sense of ethics, ordinary citizens who are paralysed by the horror unleashed against the Palestinians and other people in the region, TO NOT DESPAIR (we…

In 1982, Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon saw an opportunity to bring about a new regional order. Chaos ensued. If history is precedent, if Israel pursues further military strikes, ground invasion etc, we are on the precipice of disaster.

Opinion: After killing Hizbollah's leader, Israel is likely to see the current moment as too good an opportunity to miss, writes @gideonrachman on.ft.com/3Y1my7U
