There is a tendency of @HSE and @roinnslainte to task transfer to GP.. no resources . collegues in Healthcare should think before they write .. phrases like gp to do , gp to follow Is task transfer without resourcing No more unresourced work Our patients deserve better

5,122 deaths from measles in Ireland from 1922 to 1988, peaking at 519 deaths in 1926. Devastatingly 4,134 of those deaths (82%) were of little children aged 0-4 years old. Since MMR introduced in 1988, just 3 deaths of children from measles in the last 36 years. MMR works 🙏

he’s scientifically very wrong. Covid is airborne- properly fitted masks & clean air stop transmission. It’s indisputable 3 years of denial of airborne transmission, & failure to use readily available mitigations by HSE/ AMRIC is prolonging the pandemic cuh.nhs.uk/news/air-filte…

Rather like the previous Health Boards, might even work.

Today we've published the Implementation Plan for the HSE Health Regions. The regions will mean more integrated care for patients and those who use our services across the country. You can find out more and read the plan at: gov.ie/en/press-relea…

I tweeted this in 2020. Current measles vaccination levels are too low. Worth noting that previously healthy children can die or suffer serious long term consequences from measles. Please vaccinate your children. The vaccine is safe and highly effective in preventing infection.

During a 1983 measles epidemic in Dublin 3 of my child patients who were receiving chemotherapy for curable tumours developed measles & subsequently died. Three previously healthy children were also admitted with measles and died! Please vaccinate your children. #DoctorsSpeakUp

I totally understand people may not have vaccinated their kids against measles because they’ve never seen measles and it’s often just portrayed as spots and a fever. But it’s a REALLY awful virus and it spreads like heck. If your kids haven’t had the MMR PLEASE consider it now

Let me assure you this will be sending shivers down the spines of paediatricians around the country Absolutely hideous illness Completely preventable London measles warning: Outbreak could hit tens of thousands bbc.co.uk/news/health-66…

I wish the politicians would spend the same time, energy, shock and horror on the failure of @roinnslainte to implement any of the recommendations of the Ministerial Panel on nursing homes after so many deaths, as on the @rte/@RyanTubridyShow storm in a teacup @AgeAction

Hi, ER Doc here. I use this account to teach people about medical emergencies. It’s my birthday today and I’m hoping to hit 400K followers to be able to reach more people. Can I get some follows and retweets to help me get there?

Again for everyone in the back.... going to hospital by ambulance will not get you seen any quicker (unless you are unwell to need resus)

🚑Please remember that you should only call 112 or 999 in an emergency. Being brought to hospital by ambulance will not get you seen any quicker once there. Please help us to keep ambulances available for life threatening emergencies.
