Too much "no, but" in fandom and not nearly enough "yes, and"

i don’t want to do today.

I think if the left is serious, we do need to think about and unpack the misogyny and racism that did play a part in this election, we cannot just stop at saying racism and misogyny played a part here. we need to drill deeper at all the layers

misogynoir is going to be the downfall of this country.

I don’t regret being optimistic, by the way. I will never regret thinking better of people than maybe they deserve. I don’t know how thinking the worst of everyone always makes the world a better place.

also white ppl, especially women, shut the FUCK up about the handmaid’s tale

Stay alive. Even if it’s out of spite, stay alive. Be present. People care about you, even if your country doesn’t.

tolkien fandom "big names" are never beating the allegations of making up space for fascism and preferring quietly making up space for it in the name of "peaceful living" to taking a stance against it for once in their life.

Let‘s not fall for the trap of demonizing people who don’t vote like us. We can disagree and still love one another and be respectful (especially when it comes to our family and friends). ✌🏼❤️

I feel like we do this every election cycle but when we talk about intersectionality in feminism, this is what we mean. white women are way too comfortable aligning themselves w/ the powers that whiteness provides for them. even at the cost of their own rights.

i say it year after year, but elections feel like collaborative projects where black women are expected to carry the entire group and i’m so beyond tired of this shit.

i’m tired of seeing people on the TL only talking about this in terms of sexism when experience in evangelical world and working for white women makes me feel fairly confident that it’s misogynoir.

I think this is where I'm stuck. right here. Don't EVER question the literal fact that black women have to work 5x as hard ever again. This is sick.

Someone who worked in all 3 branches of government is losing to a reality tv host.
