In any normal world, the candidate who did this would have to resign and step aside for another candidate. It would be a career-ending moment. But it’s Trump and American in bizarro 2024 so it’s all fine and we will quickly move on from this.

“That’s okay.” Man tries to violently attack the press at Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, who often denigrates the press and promotes violence, defends him, says “that’s beautiful” and “he’s on our side”.

Bill Ackman used to be a serious person. Now he credulously accepts unsourced tweets from notorious MAGA influencers as statements of fact. It's genuinely embarrassing.

Flip-flop on abortion. Flop-flip on abortion. The only issue on which Trump is consistent: his subservience to Putin. On that, Trump never wavers

Trump yesterday told NBC News that Florida’s 6-week abortion ban is "too short." Today, he tells Fox that he’s voting to uphold it.

This one is more revealing than most. Ordinary @politico behavior would be to highlight the savvy choice of making Trump smaller by not dwelling on his insults. "Evades questions" is a bizarre description on its face, but it's also strange behavior for the Politico newsroom, and…

It is a *little* weird that "age concerns" have disappeared as a constant focus of campaign reporting and discussion even though the GOP nominee would be the oldest man ever sworn in to the office and is very obviously sharply declining before our eyes.

My problem with the @nytimes election coverage is not mainly the dopey op-eds It's that on one substantive story after another--Egyptian payoffs, Arlington cemetery, etc--they've failed to do the serious investigative work they're capable of. Trump effectively gets a pass

In Florida, the top 1 percent pay only 2.7% of their incomes on taxes. Meanwhile, the bottom 20 percent pay 13.2% of their income on taxes — nearly five times more. This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged for the rich.

In Florida, the richest 1% of earners get the biggest benefit from the state's tax code. Florida could be doing far more for low- and middle-income families. 31 states offer EITCs & 15 offer credits for dependent children. Florida offers neither. governing.com/finance/are-fl…

813 US billionaires control a record $5.7 trillion in wealth. The bottom 50% of Americans control $3.7 trillion in wealth. When ~800 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.
