Day 28 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : Countdown to Oblivion (a race against time) THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES (1971) “NINE killed her. NINE shall die!” I wouldn’t mind being sealed in a secret underground tomb with this masterpiece.
Day 27 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : Man & Machine PULSE (2001) HACKERS meets RINGU meets…LOST HIGHWAY? A surreal and haunting look at death, ghosts, and 21st century loneliness via dial-up connections.
Day 26 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : Danza Macabre (Giallo with a killer soundtrack) DEEP RED (1975) Visually stunning (and sometimes super goofy) Argento at his finest, featuring the first of many soundtracks by Goblin.

Day 24 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : Shlock&Awe FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE SPACE MONSTER (1965) A mere four years before the Kubrick’s 2001, a group of brave filmmakers dared to share their unique vision of space: one filled with horny martians and robot astronauts.
Day 23 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : For Peat’s Sake (Movies in swamps) CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954) The movie that revolutionized underwater filming and (briefly) brought the Universal monsters back from the dead. Also, the Creature had a foot fetish.
Day 22 of the @ScarecrowVideo #SCVpsychochallenge : Cthulhu’s Cohort EVENT HORIZON (1997) “Where we’re going, we don’t need eyes.” HARD PASS. I think this might have been the dumbest movie we’ve seen during the challenge this year. Yes, worse than DEVIL DOG.
Day 21 of the @ScarecrowVideo #scvpsychochallenge : Stagefrights PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE (1974) A.K.A Whatever happened to Jessica Harper? Not much of a horror movie (unless you count seeing Paul Williams’ nipples), but a psychotronic musical of the highest order.
