#Birdsong has that rare quality where it manages to be sobering and sad, but somehow also uplifting and inspiring at the same time. It's a fabulous piece of work, bualadh bos @SoundsIrish & all involved.

"Essentially this song that I was listening to - this haunting, melancholic song of the valleys, of the uplands - was the sound of extinction" 💔 #Birdsong | Tonight at 6.30pm

A magical and powerful documentary this evening. Catch on @RTEplayer if missed.

Thanks to the wonderful @kathydjourno for a lovely piece in today's Irish Independent. Less than 24hrs to go until tomorrow's TV premiere of BIRDSONG on @RTEOne at 18:30!

It's the best time of the year to hear the dawn chorus, but is birdsong getting quieter and less varied? Ahead of International Dawn Chorus Day tomorrow, we took an early morning walk in Co Wicklow to find out how climate change is impacting nature's orchestra.

But seriously , what has nature ever done for us ? You know , apart from the air we breathe , the food we eat , making us healthier . . . Brilliant new ad from @zerohour_uk to promote their Climate & Nature Bill campaign , take action at zerohour.uk #EarthDay

Good piece from @ellamcsweeney on barriers

We have a golden opportunity to help get our rivers back - we should take it irishtimes.com/environment/20…

Positive news: @NPWSIreland have been working in conjunction with @gardainfo and the Fire Services to investigate illegal burning in the Blackstairs. They are now pursuing a line of enquiry. #WildlifeCrime

The recent fires on our uplands are appalling. They're causing huge devastation to nature, impacting local people’s wellbeing and are a burden on our emergency services.
