What a terrible message the Alberta Premier is sending to the world: Not open for business.

(1/6) ✅ #COP28 says yes to #3xRenewables - time to Double Down and Triple Up! GRA has been advocating for a tripling of renewables at COP28. This agreement is historic, with #renewables being recognised for the first time in the final text as a key solution to climate change.

If the PM makes an attribution, this is a relatively big deal. We have had Iran and China called out, but this feels different. Democratic counties have been working to build relations with India. This could impact that (tho not significantly) Still sets Canada apart, incl. US.

I've had a number of industry players reach out last night and today trying to find out what's up. They didn't talk to the people who are investing in Alberta.

When you’re moving at the speed of business, talking to the business in question just has to wait till last

Alberta’s decision to halt renewable energy approvals is out of step with the rapidly growing demand for clean electricity from businesses, industry and consumers, and the province’s stated desire to reach net zero emissions. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli theglobeandmail.com/business/indus…

Warning: description of a stabbing attack at a gender studies class in Canada, Uni. of Waterloo. Horrifying news.

James Chow was in the UWaterloo gender studies class, where a professor and two students were stabbed in a hate-related attack. This is the most detailed explanation and recounting of events from any witness so far — it’s a must listen. The events are terrifying.

Hate. Misogyny. Transphobia. We need to be clear: these alarming attacks at the University of Waterloo are the result of a targeted online movement against women and sexual minorities. It is unacceptable and requires all of us to speak out. 🧵 theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…

Wow – the world will add a record 440GW of new renewable capacity this year, says @IEA update That's 24% more than it said just six months ago – and double what it expected in 2020 It also includes an "accelerated case" where growth reaches 500GW this year 🤯
