The best day! Visiting the new Waimea Dam and learning about the opportunities for horticulture and the huge investment in time and money, and then a tour of my favourite ice cream company Appleby Ice Cream, taking that local produce and making delicious food! (Cookie sandwiches)
Very much enjoyed getting to listen to the speakers at the Nuffield International Triennial Conference today in ChCh. Great dinner event at Wigram. Nuffield and Kellogg have been drivers of our primary sectors’ export success.

Our methane research programme with @crv_nz has progressed to the next step! A @pamu_nz dairy herd is being mated to bulls identified as low and high methane emitters to test whether the variation is passed on to their daughters: lic.co.nz/about/research…

Sick of the screaming ‘greenwashing’ when an ag sector GHG reduction initiative is in the media. NZPost fleet GHG is only -9% cf Fonterra yet again dairy is bashed. What is the GHG reduction from a national herd -25% on 2016 producing +5%. Tell me a sector with better numbers??
It would seem that there REALLY is a “labour crisis”. 20 minute walk around Q/town
It was a great night at @LincolnUniNZ last night talking with students at #InspiredbyAg about the future of the food and fibres sector. These guys were fantastic and will drive our future. @PatrickAldwell
This footage is both distressing and heartbreaking. Please be warned. This is Paul Weir’s milking herd being swept away by floodwaters on his Tuncester dairy farm outside Lismore. 🐄 🌧 💔 #NSWFloods #LismoreFloods #dairy
It’s been a hot summer and we’re not the only ones feeling the heat! 🔥 Fortunately, we’re one step closer to enabling Kiwi farmers to breed more heat-tolerant cows. Learn more about our ‘slick’ breeding programme and the latest trial findings here 👉bit.ly/3h5DR1c
