Our study on metabolic communication by SGLT2 inhibition is now online @circaha We describe how SGLT2 inhibitors provide metabolic kidney and heart protection, by systematic analysis of early and off-target effects of the drug across metabolic organs in the same mice.

Presented at #ERA24: Antinephrin autoantibodies occur in adults with minimal change disease and children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and appear to be disease activity markers. Their binding at slit diaphragms may induce podocyte dysfunction. nej.md/3UU5o9u

Kidney disease boils down to kidney metabolism - this not only rewires the kidney, but also starts metabolic organ communication. Here, we reviewed integrative views of metabol(om)ic data in the kidney. annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.114…

Congrats @mrins01 and team and thanks for involving us! Glad our @DugourdAjf R. Fallegger @JulioSaezRod could help to analyse this multi-omics data to understand the effect of SGLT2 inhibitors

This very cool and comprehensive study shows that the mechanism of action of Sglt2i involves broad remodeling of kidney metabolite transport, & microbiome changes (including reductions in p-cresol sulfate). Congrats to @mrins01 and Volker Vallon, et al (including @staruschenko)!
