Representing oneself as omnipotent is a powerful pull for those who feel powerless. They get to identify with this charade of “strength”. Going maskless to a rally means that you are willing to die for your new god. There can be no legitimate other-science, opinion, fact.

When you have a moral center, you can adhere to principles above rules without feeling out of control. When you have firm legal/biblical/scholarly understanding, you can apply “the spirit of the law” without having to cling to “the letter of the law.”

I think the opportunity for power, wealth, and celebrity lifestyle appealed to the enablers. In a way trump is viewed as their pawn, to be used to further their agendas. Regardless, the powerful and greedy became the gatekeepers. Hopefully all if them will be ruined

There’s another point of view. Why LET our voices be silenced by our Association? Resign, realign, let your voice be heard. Psychiatrists can’t look at themselves as victims either. We need to present ourselves as leaders to guide, inform, and educate people that are being hurt.
