Lies! @NYCMayor has cut the budget for summer youth programming. Providers across the city have been calling for funding to be restored before thousand or workers are furloughed. The Mayor hasn’t listened.
The @NYCMayor is on @CNN telling @wolfblitzer that "here in NYC we have taken funds out of the NYPD and given it to youth programs," even though, the budget isnt done, we have no price tag and the SYEP cuts stand as of today.
Our Associate ED for Youth Services @HelenaKu1 speaks to community employment and the importance of summer youth programming
Youth programs say de Blasio plan to reallocate NYPD funds is nonsense nypost.com/2020/06/10/you… via @nypmetro “The big frustration is to hear the mayor say they’re shifting funds from the NYPD to youth services and we as providers haven’t heard anything,” said Ben Thomases, 1/2
@errollouis Can you please ask the Mayor about his commitment to shifting funding from the NYPD to youth services? Is he going to put money back in SYEP and summer camp? If he is he can't wait until the budget is done. Providers need to know now so we have time to prep. 1/2

“We are all survivors, united by the pain of the pandemic.” 78-year-old Levi Faulk, a Vietnam vet a father of four, and a devoted parishioner, died of covid-19. Pastor Adolphus Lacey, of Bethany Baptist Church, is leading a special prayer service @PIX11News
Cities have bounced back from deadlier epidemics, like cholera or the plague. Some of the greatest achievements in urban development -- sanitary water, waste systems -- were responses to disease trib.al/FIjdsUH
Testing at churches, mosques and other trusted community institutions just makes sense. Where would you rather go in a crisis? Thank you First Baptist Church for opening your doors and @AOC for setting the right example!
Did you know? There are 2 types of COVID tests! The nasal swab👃tests if you have COVID now. Antibody blood tests🩸check if you already had COVID, even w/ few or no symptoms. I got my antibody test today at First Baptist in Queens w/ our amazing nurses. You can get one too!
