Missed 4 days of teaching school this week. Sciatic nerve has flared up and I cannot walk. Been a tough 5 days- it worsened Sunday night so Labor Day was miserable. Hoping for relief by Monday so I can get back to school. Missing my students. Quite a depressing week.

Archie got his last puppy shots and “graduated “. Now he can join us on walks and go camping! We love this addition to our family. He is a great pup! ❤️ @hammond_history @kfhbug29

This is what it feels like to be alive as we approach the end of the world as we know it. There is time to avoid the worst but it means every single one of us becoming activists. Leave it to other people and we are toast. Listen to David Attenborough who warned us time and again

Orientation today. Amazing school. #oneMANN

It has been an awful week. What a way to end our summer break.

This has been a weird, shitty week. A good friend drowned after being electrocuted while swimming near his dock & my father died after being told he had Leukemia. Back to back days of funerals sucks. My brother it had worse, his father-in-law also died.

Figs are ripe and will continue to ripen through the weekend and beyond. Let us know if you want to come pick. Free figs- you just have to come and pick. Plus you get to meet a really sweet Corgi puppy! @hammond_history

This was bad news to wake up to. Marshall & his family are good friends of ours. A good guy who did a lot of charitable work in the community. 🥲 wyff4.com/article/possib…

This!

If a formal observation is the first time you are in a teachers classroom, then put the evaluation form away. Just observe the greatness of your teacher, then leave a note of thanks, praise or encouragement. Relationships first!

He will be ours tomorrow! Now to pick a name……..

This dude will be ours tomorrow. Right now, he is Onslow. Trying to come with British names. Previous Corgis were Monty & Buttercup.

A mind-blowing paper has come out today in @Nature In 2016, JC Venter Institute scientists trimmed a bacterial genome to its barest minimum required for life to synthesize what they called a "minimal genome" (science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…). Today, a group of scientists from…

Affirmative Action asks schools to consider race as A factor in student admissions, so Black student population at elite institutions must be AMAZING! Well... Harvard 6.6% Yale 6.5% Brown 7.0% Princeton 4.7% Columbia 5.1% Cornell 5.0% I can see why folks want to get rid of it.
