As someone who had severe preeclampsia during labor, this breaks my heart. I feel my nurses and doctors did everything to make sure I was okay and recovering. Every woman deserves that level of care.
🧵My best friend (Black woman) & I were pregnant at the same time 18 yrs ago. We both had preeclampsia, hers undiagnosed as her symptoms were written off. I was put on bed rest & hospitalized. She was told to relax. A week after she gave birth, the day my son was born, she died.
We can’t get universal health care, can’t cancel student loans, can’t provide clean water, housing or better public transportation, but The Pentagon can misplace $3.8 trillion. Not for the first time either. Stimulus checks caused inflation but not this? Funny how that works.
