5 yrs ago I met the brains behind Seoul's highly successful dedicated bus lanes. When asked about public opposition he said, "eventually they just go away.." The confidence and courage of leadership.

The Caloundra Coastal Walk heading 20km north to Mooloolaba links communities and takes bikes and walkers offroad. The challenge for @CouncilSCC is planning for an upgrade due to congestion and conflict between cyclists and walkers. Time to get the design pad out.

I’ve been on the southern Sunshine Coast, Queensland, for 3 months now and getting into the layers of cycling networks and paths. There are lots of surprises ranging from the brand new state of the art Aura development network, to finding many off road networks from the 80s.

This is what I'm talking about! Segregated bike lanes = safe cycling & motoring #bestforall @bicycleqld @QUTSciEng twitter.com/boxbikelondon/…

Same time but taking up 50% of the space... 20 bicycles vs 5 vehicles i.e 8 times more efficient at traffic lights. https://t.co/faTjWxlskD
