How is this person an MLA, let alone the Minister of Education??? First the 'what do they want, my first born?' comment and now this?? Not to mention an ethics investigation for conflict of interest. Resign or be fired but this person cannot continue in this role.

School boards need to be sharing their realities. Negative or positive. There should be transparent reporting of funding from every single publicly funded school division in our province.

On March 20, the provincial government released its 2024-25 budget. While the school division's operating funding has increased by 7.7% for 2024-25, this increase will not come close to addressing the significant increase in student need. Learn more: spsd.sk.ca/Board/budget/P…

🚩Don't be fooled! The Teacher Support and Innovation Fund has supported only 40 projects. We have 13,500 teachers, so ~ 0.3% are being supported with this fund. These aren't the stats I would be celebrating.

The third round of funding for the Teacher Support and Innovation Fund has seen an additional 17 projects approved, totalling nearly $650,000.   Our government’s commitment to provide these additional supports has been met with impressive and innovative project ideas from…

This just shows that this man isn’t the right person to be in any position of power. He lacks compassion and empathy. In education, relationships are the foundation of all we do. He just doesn’t understand.

Taya Thomas lost her daughter last year. This is how Moe’s Education Minister responded. When the Sask. Party shows you who they are - believe them. #skpoli

When they tell you who they are or say the quiet part out loud believe them. This is who is currently in charge of education in our province.

only a government set on reneging (as they have in the past) would not want to sign such an agreement

Becotte said the only addition that the STF had asked for was one line saying that the parties signing this MOU would follow through on their commitments. trib.al/3R1POnC

I am an STF teacher. I am confident that the president, executive, and senior STF leadership are representing my views, listening to teachers, and are standing up for public education. This is a flimsy attempt to create an appearance of division in a unified membership. #wearestf

STF is asking that ONE SENTENCE be included in the collective agreement: “The parties agree that the Multi-Year Funding Agreement and the accountability framework will be followed and honoured.” @SaskParty refusal = corruption! #TimeToGoMoe #WeAreSTF #saskpartycorruption

STF president Samantha Becotte says they asked the province to include a line at the request of the STF that the funding agreement would be binding. Says there were a few back and forth conversations but they were given a NO shortly after noon

Negotiation is a two-way street, a conversation between two parties to find common ground and solutions. A take-it-or-leave-it offer with zero meaningful engagement from government isn't negotiating. Saskatchewan students and families deserve better from this government.

The STF fears they might be at another standstill in contract negotiations with the provincial government. trib.al/ixMJaU6

So…. Cockrill is announcing that the government will ensure funds and resources for graduation cermonies to take place. But… They won’t ensure funds and resources so students will meet the requirements or have the ability to graduate. Let’s really think about that.

When I was in grad school, my son(1 yo then) ended up in the ICU with RSV for 3 nights. I missed an assignment during that time. When I explained the situation, the prof. said “you should have planned better.” I saw her post today on supporting #womeninSTEM 😑😑😑

Boy, the @SaskParty apologists are out in full force today, aren’t they? …bottom line: the labour disruption would have ended entirely if the SP govt accepted binding arbitration. They refused. The resulting disruptions are 100% on @PremierScottMoe #SKpoli #IsupportSTF

I’m sure someone has already said this better But, shouldn’t the bare minimum qualifications for a Minister of Education be to have attended a public school at some point in their education? Asking for a province. #skpoli #sasked
