Who killed the Enos Lake Stickleback? (Answer: a whole much of corporate and settler government players who could have intervened at any point with more than ‘hopes and prayers’ and ‘phased development agreements’ for 1700 luxury homes in an endangered fish habitat).

Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) confirms the Enos lake stickleback pair are extinct. A failure for the Species at Risk Act, as the species were designated special concern since 1988 and endangered since 2002. species-registry.canada.ca/index-en.html#…

In 2023-24, the Sask Party government spent $1.4-*billion* on financing debt - interest costs, other fees etc. That's almost the entire Social Services spend for the same year, including benefit payouts and even Gary Grewal's greasy hotels.

Jeremy had his chance. He blew it. Now he sees that teachers aren't going down without a proper fight, so he's trying to weasel his way out of it. He's the punk who runs his mouth at the biggest kid in school, then runs and hides when that kid says #EnoughIsEnough. End/🧵

Let's be clear. The Gov't had YEARS to prepare, over a YEAR to negotiate in good faith, and MONTHS to agree to binding arbitration. But they didn't. Why? Because they thought they could bully teachers into a bad deal. So what's changed? Why offer Binding Arbitration now? /🧵

It’s been 8 years now since I defended my PhD (which took 7 years). At the viva, they skipped my 15 min presentation & launched into things asking why I ‘travelled all the way over to study with the top enviro anthros in the world (lol) but barely cite them in my dissertation’.

Clayton Boyer Reposted

I used that aggressive + arrogant question to take back my 15 minutes to do my *mandated* presentation, starting by explaining that I wasn’t going to cite people whose epistemic violence was unworthy to be included alongside the stories Knowledge holders shared with me. 🐟

Again, I want to be abundantly clear - this was in the works before the Sask Party was elected. If you want to believe me on one thing, it's this. I saw and witnessed it *all*. I heard the convos. This was 1000% about neutering school boards. Kids didn't even make the equation.

Opinion: The former dean of the College of Education at the @usask links tension to 2009 decision to end taxation powers. #yxe bit.ly/4byrhCt

🤔 if only there was some kind of contractual agreement that required gov to adequately fund classrooms. Oh wait! You sided with gov against teachers and agreed to the status quo… guess you should have thought that through.

Please make affordable childcare a priority until students enter the public school system. On my child’s birthday, our daycare increased by over 300%. Please extend the program until a child is eligible for full time school in grade 1!
