Wow, what a way for Amorim to say goodbye to Sporting. His team go ahead in the 90th minute with a great strike by Harder (another substitute). Then Harder adds another to make it 4-2 on 95mins. 11 wins out of 11. Amorim submerged by his players. Wild scenes. #MUFC

Sporting equalise with a screamer from Hjulmand. Stunning strike from 25 yards. They had pulled one back through Morita, shooting in with his first touch after being sent on. Braga 2-2 Sporting: 82mins gone. #MUFC

Sporting in a spot of bother in Amorim’s final game: 2-0 down to Braga at half-time. Came into the game off back of 10 straight wins in Liga Portugal. Sporting have controlled possession but failed to great much. Braga carrying sting in two attacks. #MUFC

Sporting fans enjoying themselves in Braga city centre before Ruben Amorim’s last game as head coach. Singing their anthem “O Mundo Sabe Que”, to the tune of Frank Sinatra’s My Way. #MUFC

Glad I caught that one in a Braga cafe. Superb goal by Fernandes. Again Amad does so well, first winning the high ball then with that disguised backheel. Great strike to finish. #MUFC

Amad had a big smile on his face in mixed zone at Old Trafford. On #MUFC future: “I’m happy to play for this club, I want to stay here for a long, long, long time to make history with this club.” His contract runs out in 2025, w/ optional extra. More ⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/59080…

🎧 Talk of the Devils 🎧 The game might not have been memorable but our FT podcast was pretty good promise. Focus on Amad’s role, Hojlund’s form + how Amorim’s win v City shapes opinion of his #MUFC arrival. @ianirving_ @AndyMitten @Ankaman616 🔗 pod.fo/e/27f413 🔗

#MUFC finally win in Europe, a run stretching back to October 2023. They rocket from 21st to 15th in Europa League table. Three points off automatic qualification for knock-out phase. Far from a thrilling game, but lit up by Amad.

Brilliance of a different kind from Amad, winning the ball with strength + smarts, then pummelling his shot. Deflection helped, but such good wing play. A man-of-the-match display done, he goes off after taking a knock, replaced by Mount, first minutes since Sept 29. #MUFC

Heck of a header by Amad. He introduced himself at #MUFC with that back flick against AC, this one an even harder effort to pull off? Shows it’s not necessarily about height to be good in the air - timing + precision work too.
