Hard to believe that the Lappe Skiathlon was over this trail yesterday!
Another shovel job made the 6 hour Lappe Skiathon a success today. Conditions ranged from quick transformed snow at -3 at the start, to a complete +10 slog. Congrats to top skiers Kendyn Mashinter and Clara Hegan. Full results at zone4.ca/event/2024/Y6d…
Lappe received another cm or so of snow overnight. Conditions are quite reasonable for April, and haven’t deteriorated significantly over the last few days. Get out and ski while you can.
Still good skiing @lappenordic. It is not icy. The classic track has hit bottom on some sun facing areas, and there are a few bare spots on the skate lane. Totally skiable if you take care.
Backwards Day - Monday April 1st! No fooling! Ski the trails in the opposite direction - it's like a whole new trail system. Take care and watch for dirt, especially in the classic tracks.
Yet another cm or so of fresh powder. Skiing continues to be very good over 12K, although you probably want to ski in the morning before it slows down .
12K was groomed including - for the first time this year - Massaro and the Swamp with a skate lane. Lappe did get an additional 2-4cm of snow yielding very good ski conditions.
Blue skies, with a wide variation in temperature through the day. Skiing is very good over 10 K with regrooming for March 30.
The skiing is about as good as it’s been all year over 10K of groomed trail. We received another 2-3cm of snow covering the few spots of grass/dirt that were showing. Skiing over Easter should be great.

10k groomed with a skate lane this morning. With the continuing snow, it is drifting in some areas.
Pauli was out skidoo packing trails today with the 8cm or so of snow that had fallen this afternoon. Some kind of grooming should happen tomorrow with significant snow falling through tonight and into the day. Stay tuned.
Lappe Nordic & Lappe Ski Centre are hosting their annual end-of-year celebration & awards Saturday March 23, 2024! 10:30 AM - orienteering, games and outdoor fun, bonfire marshmallow roast. Willow Springs Nordic Cafe will be open. 12:30 PM - Ski Centre Awards 1 PM - Club Awards
What a disaster. It's all water and ice after yesterday's thunderstorm and heavy rain. As a result the trails are closed!
