Harvesting some enya spring oats for seed. Seems a nice variety, yielding well despite being sown the 21st of April which we felt was a month too late.

Hopefully we won’t need a kettle of hot water for the combine window before we fire her up to cut these beans in October

Sun sets behind Corrin hill in east cork as the April showers roll down the valley as we prepare for planet spring barley for @IrishDistillers #ArableApril

The ancient art of stone picking handed down from generation to generation of arable farmers is alive and well and being practiced with tender loving care in Co Waterford this eve #hardship #ArableApril

Calving cows, spraying integral winter barley and no hangover on a bank holiday Sunday. True Irish mixed farming, there is not many of us left.

I’ll hardly make mass this morning but it’s grand as the big man above wants to get this integral barley planted as much as I do

Lets hope the people that will have a drink made from this barley, get as much pleasure from it as we are having cutting it this evening. #harvest22 #whiskeyandbeer 😎☀️🍻🌾

Sundays in July were made for this job

It’s that time of the year when the pressure is off and things start to come together and look towards the Harvest and time frees up for a few weeks. the wife complains less about the state of the lawn and the child begins to recognise me as I’m home earlier.Pints tonight it is..

Sun rising over the river fog on the blackwater. The fairytale weather continues

Planted 330 of these today, nothing to do with saving the planet or looking for high 5’s but 100% because my wife pestered me for months to plant a hedge. Jaysus Some hardship.

Spraying off winter barley stubbles and there is a nice few wild/weed beet visible. This field last grew sugar beet in 2005 and there was a nice few present at the Time if I recall. I wonder what mess we would have by now if the sugar beet industry stayed going?

The Spring barley harvest finished for 2021 with barley for @IrishDistillers, 3 sparrow hawks gave the evening hunting between the rows of straw for their dinner. A nice end to a memorable harvest.
