Still on Uganda's Oil Refinery fix. Govt lacks a key document to attract potential investors - a Crude Supply Agreement. Govt wants some of the oil being drilled at Tilenga and Kingfisher for the refinery. But TotalEnergies and Cnooc are hellbent on one thing - exporting it all!

When lies are deployed in a cause, then its clear the cause is weak. 200 rivers? Ofcourse, Uganda and Tanzania don't have these many. 100k people displaced? Ofcourse not, only about 12k people are impacted, 4% of these physically displaced using IFC standards.

Uganda and Tanzania are generally carbon neutral and these projects will produce LPG that will help reduce reliance on biomass, the biggest emitter for both countries, employ more than 30k young people, generate needed revenue for adaptation, plant 40m trees etc

Today, the 5th of October, I had the opportunity to look at the tweets that were being sent by some malicious and confused people when General Tumwiine died. My staff told me about those tweets, but I had not had time to look at them. I have replied here:bit.ly/3SURX6u

Gay sex is illegal in Kenya and President-elect @WilliamsRuto previously said “we have no room for gays.” Ruto tells me “we respect everybody,” but adds “this is not a big issue for the people of Kenya” and President Kenyatta was “spot on” to say homosexuality “is not agreeable.”

As @KagutaMuseveni'said If you conserve under-development you will not preserve the environment" France consumes 1,075,568 barrels of oil per day.. and this activst wants to save planet earth by stopping Eacop's 200k barrels.

.@EmmanuelMacron don’t convince us of your “powerlessness”. Start delivering what you promise. Break up your toxic friendship with @TotalEnergies Oppose #EACOP and cut off from putin’s gas&oil. Fossil fuel era must end bc all it means is destruction - from Uganda to Ukraine.
