Finding it emotionally draining to do a report on the attachment support needs of babies moved into care. If only people knew how incredibly easy it is to further traumatise babies removed from birth families. We need so much more parent-infant relationship support in the U.K.

An important and welcome report from @CommissionerDA, outlining clear changes that need to happen to make the family court a safer, trauma-informed space for women and children fleeing domestic abuse 👇 domesticabusecommissioner.uk/wp-content/upl…

🧵Every day #DomesticAbuse victims tell me that children’s safety is being put at risk in #FamilyCourt + that they are retraumatised through the process We must see immediate accelerated change @MoJGovUK Today I launch my vision of the practical reforms we need now 1/9

This is so sensible - multi-agency teams, admin support, senior staff involved in early intervention, allowing practitioners to focus on what they're trained for. Yes please! basw.co.uk/resources/psw-…

This doggo. She knows. There's so much colour on a "grey" day. Grateful for the daily prompt to get some fresh air.

Great conversations with early help workers, foster carers, residential staff and student social workers today - delivering training on therapeutic life story work. Lovely to see so much passion for helping the young people they support to make sense of difficult stories.

So relieved to see action being taken to support anti-racist practice in my profession. The level of racism some of my peers faced during our masters was terrible and when we raised it we were told to accept that's the way it is. I believe we can do better than that!

The murder of George Floyd in 2020 ignited a global discussion about the impact of racism. In order to support the development of anti-racist practice in children and family services a new suite of resources explore this issue in more depth. ow.ly/aV2m30soTn3

Managed to cook a meal for the first time in a month - feeling shattered and sick but so happy to be able to give something to someone else. Reflecting on social work values around empowerment and independence and thinking what I can bring to my practice from this experience.

My friend Dan is raising money to provide Winter Survival Kits for local people who are street homeless. Please share and donate if you can #coldwinter #kindness gofundme.com/f/homeless-win…
