It was an honour and fun to be part of this event! Also proud of both @FPAC_APFC and @ontariowoodlot Renfrew County Chapter's support for the forestry technician students. You are the future!

Made it home to Pembroke to join @ontariowoodlot & @CIF_IFC to celebrate this year’s @AlgonquinPEM Forestry Technician grads. From supporting wildlife to promoting worker safety, this intensive hands-on program develops critical skills for future leaders in forestry. Congrats! 🎉

Hey @HydroOne ,after you put an extra anchor cable in on our property last year, we now have wild parsnip. Please consider cleaning equipment between jobs to reduce the spread of #invasivespecies. Now we have to remove these. #notcool

We had the opportunity to visit the Turkey Lakes Watershed, with an excellent tour by @WET_Erik and others. Learned so much, and more than ever realized the value of long-term research sites like these.

Nothing says team building like a little 5 pin bowling! After a productive day of strategic planning on our wildland fire program, we enjoyed some friendly competition on the lanes. Thankfully, we are better at wildland fire than we are at bowling! #mynrcan #teambuilding

Story time 🧵: back in the Agreement Forest era of Ontario (1920s-70s mostly) counties received funding to buy land that was “better suited for forestry purposes”. Many of these lands had failed agricultural areas from European settlement, some with eroding soils. /1
