A remarkable fact — 19 years ago this week, Chief Justice William Rehnquist passed away. He had served as Chief for 19 years. His successor (and former law clerk) Chief Justice John Roberts has now been Chief as long as his old boss was. (WHR is 2nd and JGR is 4th from left.)
