Thanks to the @MichJIntl_Law for believing in this paper. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…
After final sprint, I now have a draft of my job market paper! "Governing the Company Town" uses archival research to show that corporate-dominated enclaves never went away, they just changed institutional form—as facilitated by local government law. I look forward to discussing!
New short essay for @HarvLRev on the impact of the Supreme Court's administrative law term on internationally informed agency action -- the many regulations that incorporate international standards, implement U.S. international commitments or reflect foreign policy interests.
Does anyone teach "development planning" out there? Looking to build a reading list on this, covering histories of planning across different periods and contexts, and/or pieces reflecting on historical lessons for contemporary development and ecological planning. Thanks!
Finally up on SSRN - Strategy for Strategy's Sake. (I do not mean to induce stress in August-cycle submitters. This paper was accepted in the February cycle.) papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf… #newlawrevarticles
Glad to see my brilliant @FordhamLawNYC colleague and @FordhamRaceLaw affiliated faculty member @ProfCatherine ahead of the pack on this! Great blog post!

Veep was prophecy.
This is extraordinary: Harris is just ditching every good progressive thing she supported one by one and claiming she's changed her mind.
Hey labor (law) twitter: a prof friend of mine is looking for a good *video* introduction to the history of (American) labor to show to students who are not expected to know anything about the subject. Any suggestions?
god it would be so sick if the @KamalaHQ team saw how bummed everyone is about the idea of Shapiro and…. didn’t pick him
1. The Haniyeh assassination is unlikely to drag Iran into a wider war. Iranians leaders understand that Israel is achieving tactical wins in the midst of a strategic defeat. Israel is making rash and escalatory moves because it is increasingly isolated, divided, and weak.
I am thrilled to announce that I've joined the board of @UNRWAUSA, the independent US charitable org that raises funds for @UNRWA It is the honor of my life to be part of this organization & to help it support @UNRWA's vital work w/Palestinian refugees unrwausa.org/unrwa-usa-pres…
Excited to share my new draft - for nearly two centuries everyone from Story to the Supreme Court has assumed we’ve lost the original meaning of treaties and compacts. And I think I’ve found them! papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…
The LRIL has published a powerful collection of writing on international law and Gaza, with contributions from over fifty scholars from as many institutions. The below words are from @shahdhm; @MichaelFakhri; @ntinatzouvala; @justinauriburu academic.oup.com/lril/advance-a…
The fantastic team at the London Review of International Law put together an extraordinary collection of short reflections on international law and Gaza. I am delighted to be part of such important project. I decided to write a vignette report on Argentina. It had to be done.
The London Review of International Law invited critical scholars to contribute short reflections on international law and Gaza. The collection of 47 pieces is published here: doi.org/10.1093/lril/l…
Metalheads for Kamala, but we only discuss politics for 2 minutes and then spend 43 minutes arguing about which album to listen to while talking about what shows we’ve been to / are going to, which we finally get to in the last 15 minutes.

mama needs some rent money so if any music pubs out there want #Olympic2024 #content, I have a lot of thoughts about Gojira (the metal band that just played the opening ceremony)!
My sincere thanks for all of the feedback thus far--especially on language. New draft on SSRN, and new finding that Interior offered the Indian Service as a training school for colonial administration--incl. fieldwork in Indian Country and Japanese American incarceration camps.
I have an Essay forthcoming in the American Historical Review on the deep connections between American colonialism, Indians, and Japanese internment during WWII--termed "colonization of the Japanese." Abstract below; draft on SSRN. Feedback welcomed! papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…
