To those saying G3 should've asked . . . Hindsight is 20/20 Prior to this, who would have ever thought that a man who lists himself as having a church he regularly preaches at, and is on staff at was not, in fact, a member or even pastor of said church? It's a bizarre case.

Ok, I’ll disagree here: This doesn’t have to be a one or the other. This is a massive failure on the part of the TBC elders, and possibly congregation if they have a say in this. And… This is a failure on Steve’s part. He is just as culpable. He preached the Bible. He knew.
If true, that’s a failure not only on Lawson’s part, but on Trinity’s for allowing such an arrangement.
Hey, I’ve got news for everyone: Just because Steve wasn’t a “member” doesn’t mean he can’t be disciplined by the church he was subject to. We should do more Bible reading and less church constitution reading.
Live long enough and witness enough relational strife within people and people groups, one conclusion you will come to is that although people are often driven more by hate than by any other motive, the energy behind it always wanes at some point. People can’t run on hate alone.
