This is wild. @rive_app just released a new Layout feature It lets us easily change the aspect ratio of our designs and automatically resizes all the elements for us!

TIL: Webflow's base JS file (Webflow.js) starts at ~1600 lines, but add just one interaction, and it jumps to ~10k — loading on every page, even those without interactions. 😳 I'd love to see Webflow with per-page JS/CSS loading. It would be **massive** for performance.

"Free" is not a feature. "Free" is only valuable when people want what you're (barely) selling.

The number one mistake leaders make … sharing “ideas” in Slack. Our voices carry weight. Unless you want something actioned, stop. Ironically, our highest-performing people will jump the fastest. And the more we derail value creation.

From now on — whenever my boss asks me what we’re going to do fix a problem — all I’m saying is: “I have a concept of a plan.”

To be a good designer, and exercise good taste, you have to be incredibly judgemental. “Do I like this? Why not? How would I change it?” But being judgemental in our work means we’re often judgemental of ourselves. And it’s a very difficult thing to stomach.

I think a lot of designers aren't very good at marketing because marketing is pretty shameless and designers have a lot of deep rooted shame.

Good design seems inefficient to people with an accountancy mindset. Bad design seems like an efficient process, but in reality it pushes inefficiency to production
