By banning women from working for NGOs, the Taliban have further marginalized Afghan women. Already stripped of many rights, Afghan women will now have even less direct access to basic goods and services. This is a cruel policy.

Even before the pandemic, the 22 richest men in the world had more wealth than all the women in Africa. Economic investments must target women entrepreneurs & focus on social protections, education & decent work.
Worth remembering two things: 1) It is legitimate to criticise MPs for their views and votes, even sometimes to make fun of them. 2) The vast majority of MPs are, personally, decent, honest and hard-working. They frequently do a thankless task. They are people just like us.
