just realized some of my most intense moments of anxiety is when i imagine someone taking something i said the wrong way and twisting my words. accusing me of saying something so awful. and what if they do? i never realized before this anxiety is from being misunderstood.

not knowing I was autistic meant that the only reason I had to attribute for the things I couldn’t do was that there was something wrong with me except I had nothing specific even to point to as ‘wrong,’ so I internalized that I was bad & unworthy of being treated well
