Starmer’s vile rhetoric—‘bulging benefits bill’ and ‘fraudsters’—is a blatant attack on the poor, disabled, and vulnerable. Fraud is a minuscule part of welfare spending, but this dehumanising language fuels hate and division. The real blight is austerity and this class warfare.
The whole thing about climate change is that it’s the least niche issue on earth. It affects every person alive. Also the animals. And the plants. And the people who have yet to be born.
Being focused on a niche issue like climate change right now is like looking for a cougar when there’s a grizzly on the trail in front of you.
