Dumb entertainment is an excuse for logical leaps and iffy acting, not thinly veiled bigotry. Perhaps "actively addressed" is a wrong term, but there's history filmmakers should be aware of if they're using old tropes and iconography, to avoid rather than ignore these problems.
Why do these things have to actively be addressed? I think its fine to just make a sleazy dumb horror film every now and then as long as its entertaining.
